This Sims 3 Completionist Let’s Play aims at “beating” the Sims – a task that sounds a lot easier than it actually is. With careful planning and a strategic approach to The Sims 3, we try to fully complete the base game. In short, while playing through The Sims 3 base game, we want to experience everything there is to experience in the game. That includes:

• All 32 Lifetime Wishes
• Reaching Level 10 in all ten skills
• Completing all skill challenges in all ten skills
• Collect every gem, metal, space rock, beetle and butterfly that is available in the base game
• Completing all 14 available full-time career paths
• Completing all 4 available part-time careers
• Becoming a partner and eventually buying out all businesses, properties and venues in Sunset Valley

The lifetime wishes are not limited to one lifetime wish per Sim, as that would require us to play with 32 Sims over the course of the series. Therefore, in this playthrough every Sim can complete multiple lifetime wishes. For example, a Sim employed in the culinary career will eventually complete the “Celebrated Five-Star Chef” lifetime wish, while he or she will probably also learn all cooking recipes, which completes “The Culinary Librarian”.
To add to the challenge, every skill in the base game needs to be fully completed by at least one Sim: That requires not only reaching level ten in that skill, but also completing all skill challenges for that particular skill. Full completion of the athletic skill would therefore include maxing in out to level ten and completing the “Body Builder”, “Fitness Nut” and “Marathon Runner” challenges.
The Sims 3 base game offers eleven different careers, however the law enforcement, musician and criminal careers all have two separate career paths, which brings the total number of full-time career paths up to fourteen.

The Sims 3 is a life simulation video game that is now in its third generation. The game was released in 2009 and is one of the best-selling PC games of all time. The Sims 3 now has 11 expansion packs as well as lots of other content. For this playthrough we will stick to the base game, with expansions possibly making an appearance at a later time.
